Waking Up in the Morning
Saturday, February 4, 2012 7:54As many of you know I am not a morning person. In fact, except for the days back when I was in elementary school, I pretty much struggle every morning to get out of bed. I suppose that having a job that I need to make it to certainly helps, but the truth of the matter is that I just don’t really like the mornings. So, in order to cope with my “love” of waking up, I have organized a kind of routine that helps me to get up on time each day.
The morning starts with the alarm on my alarm clock going off. I have the clock on a nightstand right beside my bed, and quite often I am quick enough to shut off the alarm. So, even though it really doesn’t end up being that successful, it is the catalyst for me to get up.
The next step to waking me up is the other alarm clock that goes off half an hour after the first one. This one I have put across the room with plenty of obstacles between myself and the clock to make sure that I actually get up. So far, this has worked very well, and I only hurt myself once. After shutting off this alarm clock I make my way to the shower.
I find that a shower right when I get up can do wonders for my demeanor. Without the shower I am a bit grumpy and definitely someone you don’t want to run into in the morning. I also make sure to have a coffee and an electronic cigarette. Combined, they change my day from bad to good in just ten minutes.
Even though I don’t care to get up in the morning, I am happy that I have found some type of routine that works for me. If I had not figured things out, I am sure that I would have lost my job a long time ago due to my bad attitude I have when I get up.
