Taking on a new worker is always a risk. You may have studied their CV extensively and had one, or several, interviews in which you have gotten to know them better and can then decide if they are right for the position however this is no indication of their ability to do their job competently and employee someone is a risk however one that often pays off. That being said, the decision to hire someone and their job performance is generally a result of your judgment so would it not be a good idea to have something that can aide your judgment somewhat?

Assessment tests are designed so that you can put a potential employee into an actual work situation or have them do a particular task that stimulates one of these situations and therefore you can judge how well they handle and perform. In fact, most of these tests are now done solely online and this can be a great advantage as well. Most businesses now run on computers and, even if the job that you are advertising for does not directly work with computers, you can judge the persons computer literacy anyway.

Indeed, shifting through tens or even hundreds of CV’s is never a good thing for any boss as it either takes time out of your home life or distracts you from your other work duties; with that it mind, by using these online assessments you can forgo this and instead compare the performance of all the applicants when it comes to a work like situation. Not only will this greatly help in reducing the amount of time that you spend on the application process and reading CV’s or evaluating candidates but it is also, usually, a much better indication of how someone will perform on the job.
